Where to Celebrate New Year’s Eve

Facebook

It’s time to (finally) say goodbye to 2021. Though we don’t know yet exactly what 2022 will bring — will this pandemic ever actually end? — there’s still something so refreshing about getting a clean slate and starting fresh on Jan. 1.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, here are some Boulder-area restaurants, hotels, bars and other venues to consider. Happy New Year!

Flagstaff House

Send off 2021 in style with a trip up to Flagstaff House. The beloved restaurant with some of the best views in Boulder is offering an elegant New Year’s Eve dinner featuring six delicious courses: caviar, sole roulade and lobster, just to name a few. The dinner is $300 per person (which includes tax, gratuity and a processing fee). Wine pairings and vegetarian options are also available.

Bramble & Hare

Let Jill and Erik Skokan’s wonderful team take care of you on New Year’s Eve at Bramble & Hare. They’re still working out the details of their three-course menu for the evening, but dishes will draw inspiration from their 425-acre farm, where they grow more than 250 varieties of organic vegetables and raise heritage pigs and sheep.

Centro Mexican Kitchen

Celebrate at Centro with live music from DJ Styles Davis, a midnight toast and tons of food specials like a 16-ounce bone-in rib-eye for two with crispy chipotle fingerling potatoes and banana-leaf-wrapped sea bass.

Frasca Food & Wine

Head to Pearl Street for a magical evening at Frasca, which is offering a four-course tasting menu for dinner starting at 5 p.m. The “quattro piatti” menu is $225 per person; wine pairings and other beverages are also available.

West End Tavern

Send off 2021 with a bang by eating and drinking at West End Tavern, which is doing fun whiskey and food pairings like baked crab dip paired with Laphroaig 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky, smoked beef carpaccio paired with Boulder Spirits Straight Bourbon Whiskey Sherry Cask, crab-stuffed whole-smoked trout paired with Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10-Year Single-Malt Scotch and smoked duck breast paired with Breckenridge Distillery Madeira-Cask Finish. The tavern is also doing fun specials on New Year’s Day, too, including “the Mother of All Bloody Marys,” a 32-ounce mug garnished with poached shrimp, beef stick, bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapeños and cheeseburger sliders.

St Julien Hotel & Spa

Why not start 2022 off on the right foot by treating yourself to a staycation at the St Julien, which is hosting a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball. They’ve been planning this party for the last two years, so you know it’ll be good! And when you book a New Year’s Eve package, you’ll get some nice perks, like a late check-out on New Year’s Day, valet parking, live music, balloon drops and a champagne toast.

Hotel Boulderado

Dress up in your finest garb and head to the Hotel Boulderado for its New Year’s Eve party at License No. 1, which includes live music with DJ Drake, a pizza buffet and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $35 per person.

Jax Fish House

Prepare to feast on New Year’s Eve at Jax, which is doing luxe specials to celebrate like a surf-and-turf plate with a bone-in filet, butter-poached dungeness crab claws and chanterelle mushroom sauce.

DV8 Distillery

DV8 is hosting a fun New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball with The Zookeepers that includes live music and performances, specialty vodka cocktails, ball drop, a photo booth and a midnight toast. Tickets range from $40 to $60.

Boulder Theater

Rustle up your music-loving friends and get tickets to Crumb’s New Year’s Eve Boulder Bash with Ramakhandra at the Boulder Theater. Tickets range from $35 to $39.50.

The Post

If buckets of fried chicken, champagne and other goodies (think: chicken liver mousse, frisée salad, braised pork shoulder with creamy grits and a s’mores mousse jar) are our New Year’s Eve jam, then head to The Post. They’re also doing a special New Year’s Day brunch with their annual “Good Luck Platter,” complete with pork shoulder, brown gravy, collard greens, shoestring onions and an over-easy egg, served open-faced on Texas toast with a side of hoppin’ john.
