Get out your calendars, because it’s time to start making moves for this summer.
Below, you’ll find a list of some of our favorite festivals and events in Boulder and beyond.
Boulder Creek Festival
This popular festival, which is scheduled to take place May 26-29, has been Boulder’s favorite way to celebrate the official start of summer, aka Memorial Day weekend, since the late 1980s. Watch more than 30 musical groups and performers on three different stages, check out the vendor and artist booths, sip some craft beers and watch the epic painting competition. And be sure to. bring the whole family down, as the festival will once again have tons of fun options for little ones.
Bolder Boulder
Even if you’re not running this year, the annual Bolder Boulder 10K race is just as fun to watch from the stands of Folsom or while lining the streets of Boulder. Held on May 29, the race will also have its signature Memorial Day tribute to those who have selflessly given their lives in service to their country.
Boulder Jewish Festival
This one-day event, slated for June 4, includes music, food, art and more at the Boulder Jewish Community Center.
Colorado Shakespeare Festival
There’s so much to love about the Colorado Shakespeare Festival: Beautiful 400-year-old language, imaginative storytelling, incredible acting and a gorgeous setting out under the stars at the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre at the University of Colorado. Performances run from June 11 to Aug. 13, but be sure to snag your tickets now so you can catch “Much Ado About Nothing,” “The Winter’s Tale,” “King Lear,” “The Comedy of Errors” and “One Man, Two Guvnors.”
Boulder Comedy Festival
Make time for a little humor in your life by attending the Boulder Comedy Festival, which this year will take place June 21-25 at a variety of locations.
Colorado Music Festival
World-class musicians from around the globe will be convening in Boulder for this magical six-week concert series, held at Chautauqua Auditorium from June 29 to Aug. 6.
Boulder Fine Art Street Festival
Need some new art in your life? Of course you do. Head to Twenty Ninth Street from July 8-9 to admire the work of local and national creatives at the Boulder Fine Arts Street Festival.
Boulder Environmental / Nature / Outdoors Film Festival
Scheduled for July 13-16, this innovative festival at the Dairy Arts Center is all about the natural world. Film screenings, discussions and other events are all on the docket.
Pearl Street Arts Fest
Though we certainly never need a reason to head down to Pearl Street, this arts festival is a great excuse to spend some time in downtown Boulder. Head to the Pearl Street Mall from July 14-16 to wander through what is essentially the most stunning outdoor art gallery on the planet.
Boulder Taco Fest
Hope you’re hungry, because the Boulder Taco Fest does not mess around when it comes to tacos and margaritas. Slated for Aug. 26 at the Boulder Civic Area and Library, this one-day event also includes lucha libre wrestling matches, live music, pinatas and other activities.
