As the home of Crocs — you know, those bright, round-toed, plastic shoes adorned with holes — Boulder doesn’t exactly have the fashion reputation of the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
But if nothing else, shopping is plenty entertaining here, especially if you crave local shops with quirky gifts.
The brick-lined, historic Pearl Street pedestrian mall is the coolest place to shop for the vast and unique selection, stunning scenery, people-watching and upbeat atmosphere. You’ll find reliable chains here too, like Fresh Produce, Urban Outfitters, and Free People.
Find chain stores plus occasional pop-up craft fairs at the Twenty Ninth Street Mall. Head up to University Hill for head shops, art supplies, Boulder’s favorite record shop, and even a poetry bookstore.
