Summer is officially in full swing. And if you’re hoping to make the most of Colorado’s gorgeous June weather, mark your calendar so you can attend these fun events throughout the month.
Arts in the Park – Boulder Ballet
Boulder Ballet is kicking off Arts in the Park with two mixed repertoire performances at the Glen Huntington Bandshell: One on June 2 and another on June 3, both from 7 to 9 p.m. Grab a bite from a local food truck, as well as a glass of wine or a beer. Proceeds from drink sales will benefit the PLAY Boulder Foundation.
Longmont Downtown Summer Concerts
June 2 also kicks off Longmont’s Downtown Summer Concerts series, with performances by High Lonesome and Head for the Hills starting at 6 p.m. This free event takes place at 4th and Kimbark and includes dancing, food trucks, craft beverages and kids’ activities. If you miss the first one, catch one of the other shows in the series, which occur every Friday in June: June 9, June 16 and June 23.
Colorful Colorado at R Gallery + Wine Bar
R Gallery’s newest exhibit opens June 7: “Colorful Colorado.” This show highlights the varied landscapes located throughout the Centennial State. If you can’t make opening day, this one runs through July 16.
Bands on the Bricks
You’ll have three opportunities to enjoy Bands on the Bricks this month: June 14, June 21 and June 28. The first performance on June 14 features the sweet, sweet tunes of The Long Run – “Colorado’s Tribute to the Eagles.” Then, on June 21, it’s The Goonies, a 1980s cover band. Hazel Miller & The Collective will rock the house on June 28.
This series runs every Wednesday evening through Aug. 2 and features free live music and a beer garden. Head to the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall for a little mid-week fun.

Bike to Work Day
The entire month of June is Walk and Bike Month, so dust off your walking shoes and break out your bike helmet. There are events all month long, but the biggie is Bike to Work Day on June 28. On this day, you’ll find free breakfast stations located around town as you pedal on your way to work from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., as well as a fun Bike to Work Day happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Other events include B360 Bicycle Around Boulder on June 4, the W360 Slow Marathon on June 11 and a bike show on June 21.
West End Mile
On June 22, head downtown to watch or participate in the West End Mile, which features a multi-lapped one-mile course. Kiddos can run in an 800-meter race, and there are different heats for adult runners depending on their pace, age and status. It’s the first race in the Downtown Boulder Triple Crown Race Series, so you don’t want to miss it. Afterward, grab a bite, then stick around and watch “Top Gun: Maverick” outdoors on 10th Street starting at 8:30 p.m.
Rollerpalooza
When was the last time you felt like a kid again? If you’re like most people, it’s probably been a while. But Rollerpalooza on June 25 is here to change all that. Grab your rollerblades, skates, skateboard, scooter, bicycle, tricycle or any other device with wheels and head down to 13th Street between Arapahoe and Canyon from 1 to 5 p.m. You’ll be able to roll around a special rink while jamming out to tunes mixed by an on-site DJ. This event is part of Social Streets, an initiative designed to bring people downtown and build community.
