Longmont Restaurant Week is back for another year of fun, flavor and camaraderie.
Scheduled for October 3-12, the 10-day community-driven event is led by Jennifer Ferguson and a small-but-mighty team of food lovers and neighborhood cheerleaders.

It’s a great opportunity to check out new restaurants, see what’s new at old favorites and indulge in everything that makes Longmont’s food scene so special. For the city’s beloved eateries, Longmont Restaurant Week also gives them an important boost during a relatively slow period.

“Organizing this event is a true labor of love—a way to strengthen and highlight all the amazing food businesses in the area and the people who make them great,” says Ferguson.

This year’s line-up includes three new events. TasteAbout Downtown, held on September 7 during Longmont Arts Week, gave diners a preview of Longmont Restaurant Week with samples of more than 15 curated bites from participating restaurants.
The Kick-Off Party & Bar Boss Battle, meanwhile, is scheduled for October 2 at the Winner’s circle. This free event includes food, goodie bags and a high-energy competition as Longmont’s best bartenders and mixologists duke it out to be crowned the city’s official “Bar Boss.” Attendees and judges will pick winners in both cocktail and mocktail mixing. A limited number of VIP tickets will also be available, offering private access and exclusive perks during the event.

On October 4, the Boulder County Farmers Market in Longmont will host a chef demonstration starring Sean Gafner of the Gafner Hospitality Group, the team behind Longmont favorites The Roost, Jefes, Swaylo’s Tiki Restaurant and Bar, 99 Bar Saloon. From 10 a.m. to noon, he’ll be showing off recipes from Swaylo’s, his tropical tiki-inspired restaurant. Guests can not only watch Gafner work his magic, but they’ll also be able to try samples of fresh menu features.

During the 10-day main event, diners can enjoy delicious experiences at nearly 40 participating restaurants. Options include special prix fixe menus, couples’ dining packages, family-style feasts and featured drink pairings. Check out the Longmont Restaurant Week website for menus, hours and special offers.
“Hospitality is a tough but rewarding industry, filled with some of the hardest-working people I know,” says Ferguson. “Through this event, I’ve had the chance to meet and connect with so many wonderful people. In my second year leading Longmont Restaurant Week, my hope is that the initial changes we’ve made begin to take root, and that people see this as an opportunity to try a new place or dish—and to join in a celebration of our local food and drink.”
