September is winding down, the overnight temperatures are falling and the aspens are changing the mountain landscape. If you haven’t experienced this opportunity to see the leaf change in Colorado, you should visit or make that drive into the mountains. It is well worth it.

For more of an adventure, make the 50-minute drive from Boulder and visit Rocky Mountain National Park. You will need to make a reservation until Oct. 11, 2021 to enter. The experience will be amazing not only the changing colors but also the elk bugling in the meadow and throughout the park.

A great route to Estes Park/Rocky Mountain Park is to take the Peak to Peak highway. tThe views are incredible and fall colors are beautiful. On the way, to the west you will see Longs Peak at 14,259 ft., one of 58 mountain peaks in Colorado over 14,000 feet.

Don’t be surprised when you drive through Estes Park to see elk walking around town and on the golf course. Enjoy your trip.
