Boulder residents have lots of options when it comes to staying fit, from Crossfit and yoga to climbing and swimming. Now, there’s a new place in town to work up a sweat: Life Time Boulder.
The national lifestyle brand recently opened its newest outpost at the Twenty Ninth Street mall at 1821 30th Street. The 52,000-square-foot athletic country club replaces the former Colorado Athletic Club, which operated in the location for more than a decade before closing in October 2023.
Life Time recently renovated the space, which is now its eighth location in Colorado.
“Boulder is home to one of the most passionate and performance-driven fitness communities in the country,” says Jarod Cogswell, club leader at Life Time Boulder. “We’ve designed this club as a destination for elite athletes and everyday achievers alike, offering the luxurious amenities and best-in-class programming Life Time is known for, all under one roof.”
The location encompasses 36,000 square feet of indoor space and 16,000 square feet of outdoor space. The heated outdoor lap pool—which offers views of the Flatirons—has six lanes that will be open year-round for training, master’s swim and swim teams and open swim.
The facility also has an indoor lap pool with three lanes for swim less and lap swimming, plus a rejuvenation suite featuring a cold plunge, whirlpool, sauna and steam room.
Visitors can also take advantage of the best-in-class cardio equipment, resistance-training machines and free weights on the expansive workout floor.
And, since recovery is just as important as working out, Life Time Boulder has a dedicated space for Hydromassage and CyroLounge, Normatec compression technology, percussion devices, metabolic testing, recovery treatments and nutrition coaching.
If you love group fitness, you’ll be happy to know the gym has three boutique-style studios: one for yoga and barre, one for Pilates with eight reformers and one for cycle and Life Time’s ALPHA, GTX and Ultra Fit signature classes.
And Life Time Boulder isn’t just for adults, either. For little ones, there’s a toddler area, as well as a Life Time Kids Academy where kids can play.
Children ages three months to 11 years can also learn, play and grow with engaging and enriching age-specific programming and classes.
Good news for busy parents: two hours of child care per day are included with a junior membership. You can also get four free kids’ swim lessons when you enroll your little one in monthly recurring group lessons.
To refuel after your workout, hit the LifeCafe for smoothies, coffees and to-go meals. During the summer, an outdoor bistro will serve healthy meals poolside.
