Mama’s Broke is a powerful duo that deliver a compelling performance with heart and raw energy. Although highly influenced by their Canadian roots, Lisa and Amy are based out of nowhere and everywhere.
Their two strong voices blend to create haunting harmonies, while they artfully juggle fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin, and incorporate traditional dance and foot percussion into their performance. Their original -and often dark- compositions push the boundaries of tradition and the constraints of genre. Drawing from old-time, Quebecois, blues, punk, celtic, balkan and doom metal, they create a soundscape that is both familiar and new.
Opening the show will be Danny Shafer, a mainstay of the Colorado Music Scene and intinerate singer/songwriter.

name goes back to the origins of the band in 2008 when all four of the
original members worked for the same company in our day-jobs and we used
to take off work early to jam and learn new songs. Two of the original
lineup (Lee and Tapani) still work for the same company and, on
occasion, still might duck out of the office early to make a show or
rehearsal.
Our classic rock music can best be described as the
soundtrack of our lives as we play the music we love to listen to. Each
song resonates with our audiences and we get transported back in time
every night when we’re on stage!

History of Mehregan
In
Persian culture, Mehergan is a time to honor love and friendship and
the harvest, a time to renew our commitments to each other and our
community, a time to honor justice and balance.
During
pre-Islamic and early Islamic Iran, Mehrgān was celebrated with the same
magnificence and pageantry as Nowruz. It was customary for people to
send or give their king, and each other, gifts. Rich people usually gave
gold and silver coins, heroes and warriors gave horses while others
gave gifts according to their financial power and ability, even as
simple as an apple. Those fortunate enough would help the poor with
gifts.

Fans of legendary folk icons The Kingston Trio can re-discover their timeless music all over again, as the group returns to their national tour. All three current members, Mike Marvin, Tim Gorelangton and Buddy Woodward have intrinsic links to and experience with the original group: Mike is the adopted son of founding member Nick Reynolds, who was also his musical mentor; Tim, a close friend since boyhood, is one of the few musicians outside the Trio who has recorded with Nick Reynolds; and Buddy, who has performed with longtime Kingston Trio member George Grove. Many of their personal memories recall the iconic trio’s performances and journey as folk music made its extraordinary ascent to the pinnacle of popular culture – and the top of the music charts. They’ll perform such timeless classics “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?” and “Tom Dooley”.

Synth-Pop artist Roosevelt has shared his latest single, the anthemic ‘Ordinary Love’, which is also his debut release on Ninja Tune’s Counter Records imprint. The track is his first release since his 2022 collaboration ‘Passion’ with the legendary Nile Rodgers. Roosevelt, is the artist moniker for Marius Lauber. The German producer, instrumentalist, vocalist and DJ’s kaleidoscopic new track weaves together funky bass, shoegaze-leaning guitars, vibrant synths and a stadium-sized chorus, with the psychedelic fusion combining to transcendent effect. “I wanted to create some kind of urgency that resembles the euphoria of a new love, with all its bliss but also the uncertainty that comes with it,” he says of the track. Having left his studio in Cologne in search of new inspiration, the track was written in an isolated cabin in the Elysian Heights of Los Angeles last summer. Layering many synths together, Roosevelt originally called the single ‘Wall Of Sound’ when he was working on the initial demo. Sonically, the idea of the sound of the sirens, which are played on a vintage Prophet 5, came as he wanted to “create an underlying feeling of instability. “It worked out as a great contrast to the melodic chords,” Roosevelt adds, “as there’s always a slight disharmony going on throughout the track”. It also comes after his third album, ‘Polydans’, which was released in February 2021 and, according to SPIN magazine, “got bodies moving and hearts racing” and his remix of Taylor Swift’s global phenomenon ‘Anti-Hero’ in late 2022. More new music is expected from Roosevelt this summer, alongside his return to the stage as part of a huge live tour.

Black Opry is a home for Black artists and Black fans of country, blues, folk, and Americana music. Country music has been made by and loved by Black people since it’s conception. For just as long, we have been overlooked and disregarded in the genre by fans and executives. Black Opry wants to change that. We invite you to discover, support and enjoy Black artists with us. One of the most valuable aspects of country music is its versatility and diversity in sound. Country, blues, folk, and Americana music often overlap or weave together- our artists explore all of those sounds and intersections. Offered in two formats, writers rounds and festival sets, the Black Opry Revue showcases the diversity in sound and stories that Black artists offer to these genres.

Originally composed to entertain nights of insomnia, this is Bach’s only work of its kind, a golden goblet of sonic nourishment.
The 43rd Season opening concert of Boulder Bach Festival features one of Colorado’s favorite musicians, pianist David Korevaar. He presents an iconic work by J.S. Bach, the Goldberg Variations. This 70-minute sonic journey is performed without pause, transporting the audience through the many colors of variation on an extremely tender musical theme.
Korevaar’s spectacular and unorthodox recording of the Goldberg Variations has received glowing reviews internationally. Hearing this work in the Gordon Gamm Performance Space at The Dairy offers the audience an up-close-and-personal experience with the artist, as if in a candlelit salon from another time. Calming lighting design by Craig Bushman invites the listener to enter the sound world of Korevaar, Bach, and the Baroque.

Phoebe Nix is the group fronted by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Christopher Robert Clauss. Growing up between Colorado and New Jersey, Christopher launched Phoebe in 2014 in the vibrant Asbury Park music scene of coastal NJ.
After being nominated for top new artist by the Asbury Music Awards, Christopher packed his dreams and life into his car and drove them back out to Boulder.
Recently, Phoebe Nix has re-emerged with a whole new group consisting of some of the finest musicians in the front range. The group features Lucas Cosby on keyboards and synthesizers, Ari Melinger-Cohen on electric bass, and Quinton Nespor on the drum kit, and the occasional horn section.
Phoebe Nix blends funk and jazz sensibilities with classic songwriting, and high points of wild improvisation. Some parts indie rock, some parts jazz pop, Nix brings an energetic and captivating performance.
In a short time since the new year, this incarnation of Phoebe Nix has gone from favorite local cafes like the Trident to the Fox Theater, and will continue to push forward and share the music with a growing fan base.
Look for a full length album dropping in October, and some singles coming soon!

Event Details
Son Little, praised by American Songwriter as “one of the best songwriters working today,” conceived his latest album, Like Neptune, in a cabin overlooking the Delaware River in upstate New York. Trading in the existential dread permeating his previous work for unbridled joy and self-acceptance, Son Little transmutes the chronic pain of self-doubt into a beautiful and freeing opus about overcoming generational trauma. Hailed by Afropunk as “a stunning statement of purpose,” Like Neptune decorates the altar of the primordial blues and elevating the labor of healing to high art. “I’ve always felt as though I was making music because I had to, something inside compelled me. Fueled me,” Little shared. “This the first time in a long time I’m making music for the pure joy of creating.”
Son Little and his band, comprised of Little on vocals/guitar, Steve McKie (drums), and DeShawn Alexander (keys/bass), will tour North America for the first time support of Like Neptune through November and December.

Boulder Colorado’s longest-running champions of high-energy, authentic funk and soul music, The Pamlico Sound are known for their original, contemporary songs and performances, while drawing inspiration from classic legends like Sly & The Family Stone and Parliament Funkadelic. The joyful interplay between band and audience combine to create the “Jive Church”: a non-religious, theatrical/interactive experience inspired by the Black Baptist churches of the south—with everyone moving, shouting and shaking in a celebration of the uplifting power of Pure Funk’n Soul.
iZCALLi (iːs kæ liː)
Is a genre-bending rock band pushing the sonic envelope of conventional Latin sounds. Miguel Aviña (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Brenda Aviña (Bass) and Luiggy Ramírez (Drums) combine to create music for the relentless, the determined…the immigrant song. Inherently authentic and undeniably refreshing. iZCALLi swigs its evolving sound from all wells of tradition, from Latin-tinged echoes to fuzz rock anthems saturated with rebellious spirit in English and in Español; creating the perfect molotov of nostalgia and euphoria, equal parts sweet and intoxicating. iZCALLi’s music ignites a sonic space to reconnect yourself with the present, to join what you’ve left behind with what you will recover, discover your heart, so you know you are home.
