Event Details

“Lord, what fools these mortals be!” A Midsummer Night’s Dream ends with the funniest scene that Shakespeare ever wrote, the “most lamentable comedy, and most cruel death of
Pyramus and Thisbe.” But Peter Quince is nearly unable to present the piece because his leading actor, Nick Bottom, has been transformed into a man with a donkey’s head by a
mischievous Puck. Worse, the Queen of the Fairies, Titania, has fallen in love with the transformed Nick Bottom. And the course of true love definitely doesn’t run smooth when
Lysander and Demetrius are both bewitched by a magical flower that makes them fall in love with the first thing they see when they wake up. It all adds up to a comical, magical,
midsummer night in the woods outside Athens.
