Event Details

Forming in early 2016, Plain Faraday is an indie-folk-rock project hailing from Colorado. The backbone of the group consists of the father-son duo, Caleb (vocals and guitar) and Rob Sanders (upright bass). In addition, the group also includes cellist Katie Burns and percussionist Ezra Bram.

Plain Faraday’s indie sound lies somewhere between acoustic Americana and modern folk, often integrating aspects of indie-rock, jazz, blues, and pop. Their quest for meaningful lyrics and dynamic compositions are guided by a respect for wood and steel, times past and present.

Working with local favorite The Spot Studio, the group released two singles in 2017, ‘Porcelain Fine’ and ‘My Friend’. They released a third single in April 2018, ‘Declivity’ in partnership with local music producer and coffee aficionado Tyler Venter. They’re presently working to produce and release their first album in 2019 (a five song EP).

When not playing music, the group also enjoys consuming craft root beer, chess throw downs, hucking a disc with friends in the warm Colorado sun, kicking the hacky-sack, and exploring the inspiring Rocky Mountains.

Ana Corral:

Ana Corral is a local singer-songwriter. Influenced by artists such as Alicia Keys, Gregory Alan Isakov, Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, and Gillian Welch, her music genre varies and can be considered a blend of Americana, Folk, and Indie Pop. She grew up competing classically in piano, and learned the cello and guitar only a few years after. Ana is currently a senior at CU Boulder, studying sustainable product design and minoring in Spanish, but should really be majoring in the art of terrible comedy and singing about boys. While she loves school and learning, Ana finds her passion in sharing the joys of music and emotions with others.
