Event Details

Luna
Cultura, in partnership with the Museum of Boulder, invites you to
commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with an event of art, culture,
music, tradition, pre-Hispanic Mexican cuisine, and activism.

Pre-Hispanic
era: The roots of Mexican cuisine can be traced back to the
pre-Hispanic era when indigenous civilizations like the Mayans, Aztecs,
and other Mesoamerican cultures thrived. They cultivated and consumed a
variety of foods, including corn (maize), beans, squash, tomatoes,
avocados, chilies, and chocolate. These staples continue to play a
significant role in Mexican cooking today. –

This
day will acknowledge the Zapatista influence in Mexico and will develop
constructive conversations and alternative healing in the forms of art
and music.

This will be a participatory space to honor history, resilience, and collective wellness. Everyone is welcome.
