Event Details

From 1898’s “good table board” for $5.00 a week to 2019’s farm fresh, locally sourced food by Three Leaf Concepts, Chautauqua has always fed the body as well as the mind. Learn about the history of the Dining Hall, the picnics, the Rocky Mountain Climbers Club’s steak frys and camping fare, the water supply, the teetotalling and the cocktail parties, and the Chautauqua Cookbooks.

About the Speaker:
Kate Gerard has been the archivist and records manager at Chautauqua since 2013. She grew up in Boulder and remembers the Dining Hall and the picnic shelter in the early 1960s.
