Hannah Kahn Dance Company: Dances and Songs

The Hannah Kahn Dance Company, in collaboration with Zach Heckendorf and Friends, will present “Dances and Songs”. The program will celebrate the joys of coming together through motion and music.

The program’s seven dances will alternate with musical performances by Zach Heckendorf and Friends and culminate in a new dance set to three of Heckendorf’s songs. Kahn’s work has been described as “invigorating… bubbled with energy and flights of originality…liquid and lyrical… effervescent and witty” by Marc Shulgold; while Hekendorf’s music has been likened to Ben Harper’s swelling funk and Jack Johnson’s easygoing sway.

Six other Kahn dances will round out the program. Combining Kahn’s choreography from over four decades of creative work with the fresh and youthful voice of a talented and successful young musician working in the acoustic rock genre should provide a rich experience for audiences who love live performance.
