Boulder filmmaker Stacey Steers is known for her process-driven, labor-intensive animated films composed of thousands of handmade works on paper. Her recent work takes actors from early cinematic sources and repurposes them in original, lyrical narratives. Steersís animated short films have screened throughout the U.S. and abroad, and have won numerous awards. Venues include the Sundance Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, IFFR Rotterdam, Lincoln Center and MoMA (NYC), and the National Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.) among dozens of others.
Steers will present her trilogy, Edge of Alchemy (2017), Night Hunter (2011) and Phantom Canyon (2006) and an earlier film. She will be at the screening to speak about her work.
