More than 300 singers in the prestigious San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus along with The Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir embark on a tour of the American Deep South. They perform thunderously in churches, community centers and concert halls all in the hope of uniting us in a time of deep, passionate differences. Conductor Dr. Tim Seelig and other Chorus members, some of who fled the South long ago, must now finally confront their own fears and pain on a journey back home. For the singers, this tour is surprisingly free of animosity and offers a glimpse of a freer America, where the things that divide us—faith, race, politics and sexual identity—are set aside by the soaring power of music, humanity and a little drag.​
