A Quieter Stay: South Boulder Hotels

Facebook

You probably know the big name hotels in Boulder. The Boulderado. St. Julien. But sometimes, you want a quieter place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still near hiking, restaurants and all the things you love about Boulder.

Luckily, there are a number of other hotels in Boulder that aren’t in the middle of everything. South Boulder boasts some of the best entertainment in Boulder: Chautauqua, NCAR, great restaurants and popular breweries. You can stay close to all of this instead.

We love South Boulder, and we love staying in South Boulder. While these hotels are all technically on the East Boulder side of the division, they’re the three closest hotels to South Boulder and offer easy access to everything we love about the south side of town.

1. Days Hotel Boulder, 5397 S. Boulder Road

It may be part of the well-known Days Inn franchise, but this hotel may surprise you with just how unique it is. The first thing you’ll notice is the fantastically bright exterior, with a fun, bright representation of the mountains, as well as a cartoon sun peeking over the hotel grounds.

The interior of the Days Hotel is just as exciting as the outside. The lobby is a bright blue, and the rooms have fun details like purple curtains and multi-colored and patterned bedspreads.

The Days Hotel doesn’t lack amenities, either. Offering smoke-free rooms with parking, a shuttle to DIA and an outdoor pool, as well as a complimentary breakfast, on-site café and business center, you really don’t have to fight the crowds for anything.

2. Homewood Suites, 4950 Baseline Road

Homewood Suites by Hilton is the South Boulder place to stay if you’re traveling with your furry friend. It’s the only hotel on this list that offers accommodations for both service dogs and non-certified pets.

It also offers a fitness center with basketball and an outdoor pool, a large business center, complimentary breakfast and evening social and a number of rooms for business meetings or other events.

Along with these amenities, the Homewood Suites offers rooms with a subtle, modern design, including all-white linens, black and grey décor and fireplaces in some rooms.

It also has an impressive outdoor space with seating, grills and a fire pit.

3. Rodeway Inn & Suites, 555 30th St.

The Rodeway Inn & Suites Broker Inn is the most Colorado of the three South Boulder hotels. The entrance is rustic, reminiscent of a mountain cabin, with lots of woodwork detail, fountains and a variety of plants that make it feel comfortable and homey.

But this isn’t just your parents’ old cabin. The lobby also has a display of sports paraphernalia, beautiful stained glass and a large colorful globe to brighten up the décor.

The rooms themselves are all unique, some with the same cabin feel as the lobby, and others more brightly decorated and modern.

The Rodeway also offers a complimentary breakfast, seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, and full fitness center.

Here are some shared qualities we love about all three of these hotels:

Less than a ten-minute drive to Chautauqua Park

Easy Access to Highway 36

Unobstructed views of the Flatirons

Affordable rates, all under $200 per night
